Resident Counselors

Under the supervision of the Program Director

Counselors will be utilized based upon their ability to assist in the provision of service and/or program delivery. They will be held to the same minimum qualification requirements as paid staff members providing comparable duties. All staff, including volunteers, will be screened in accordance with the requirements of the licensing agency, to include fingerprint, FBI and VA State Police background checks and the documentation of such checks will be maintained, at all times, on site, for review by the licensing authority.

Must possess a demonstrated and/or documented knowledge and/or experience with regard to socially and emotionally maladjusted youth in one or more of the following areas:

o Life Skills Training
o Acceptable youth counseling techniques
o Intervention techniques
o Crisis and/or conflict resolution,

·Must be, or eligible to become CPR and First Aid certified.

Requirements:
Minimum requirement of a high school diploma;

Some college or degree desired;

Three years experience in the general field of human services preferred.
